Volvo seems to love diesel engines...but none of theirs is V8 diesels. I have a 3 cylinder diesel lawnmower.

You guys (Super nova and 73) don't know who all made Strait 8's??? Chevy well GM made them I've owned one. Torque monsters! like rip your lugs off torque. Great pulling power, but poeple don't buy torque, they buy horse power. Or so the saying goes. The mileage (miles per gallon) and the EPA killed them. If you look at Chevy's "new" strait six you can see that sliding pass the EPA isn't going to help for long. The MPG is killing it as we sit here. 15-19 Is that really the best they could do???

Chevy had alot more straight 6's then they did 8's. The straight 6's had enuff torque to do some damage lol.

;D Yes, Chevy's straight sixes where kings, Dodge's "Slant Six" was the prince. Ford's 300 , well I never had any luck with those they like to leak oil from that side cover. I'm pretty sure that chevy picked a straight six design hoping to get sales from people that remember the power of the old ones. And it's power isn't to bad either so young peopple want them too. Too bad you have to drive a "trail Balzer" to have one.

;D It's that retarded side cover! It's almost imposable to seal it up. I just saw a New GTO, likes like a Cavalier or small Grand AM. I wonder what the power to weight ratio is? I can't even go to a local dealer and look at one so, do any of you know? I'd have to say a third gen with an LS1 would fly like a 727. More so with the 6 speed. Later

I'm not sure what the power to weight ratio is, I'm sure it's good though,

Ford has always had oil problems. Weither leaks or delivery. Most of the old 292's and stuff had to have overhead oilers on them.

The new GTO is made by an Australian company, i cannot remember the name. It has the same body style as one of the cars this companie makes. I do not like the new body, i personally think pontiac could have done alot better om bringing back their GTO.

I think their trying to do what they did in the 60s, take a base model Pontiac (Tempest) and put a big motor in it and call it a GTO, but it's not 1964 anymore. (1963?)
