I am going to start a project truck this winter. Since my nova is done besides the bumpers (have to take them apart and get the bolts back thru them ), and my truck is road worthy. This should be a fun little project, that will take all winter. Since its a junk truck, im not going to go all out on it. I mean, Im going to do all the body work and smooth it out really good and give it a nice prime job...but its not going to be painted. Also I will rebuild an engine for it, but it will be completely stock..so im not going all out on that either. Basically the truck will be stock and primer, and not alot spent on it. Reason Im doing this, is to try and save these cars down here we have. A good running, reliable stock truck with only a primer paint job is better then it rusting away right? After im done with this, ill probally pick up on one of the others sitting down here. That is, if I have enuff energy after all this.....

Should keep me busy dont you think? lol
I should be able to get it road worthy with around $700. I know what your saying "WHAT? $700 and get THAT hunk of junk running..and running good?". The cab is rust free, and I have a bed for it..so no worries there. Fenders will need alot of fixing or buy 2 more. I have a hood, but If I use it ill need to brace it up since its broke where the hinges go. I can use it for the time being, but will need another. It needs a door, which I have. I will need a dash and gauges. Since the engine will be rebuilt to stock specs, I can get it rebuilt for around $300-$400 me doing all the work. I have a transmission. Tires are OK, but would need news ones if on the road long. Needs a back glass, and could use another windsheild. I have the glasses I can put in it. Brakes are still good on it, but could be changed. Keep in mind the fenders, and hood would be bought off another junk truck (probally one that has been wrecked in the rear)..so they would be fairly cheap.
So here is the list: Engine Rebuild: $400 Fenders: $100 pair Hood: $50 Dash & other interior pieces that may be needed: $150 Total: $700
Now that isnt exact price..since I havent bought the fenders or hood yet. So it could be more, or it could be less.

A guy from the truck forum I go to is suppost to be buying the frame off of this truck. So I guess ill be doing another project. He lives in SC and is going to buy it as soon as I get the cab/fenders off. $150 for the bare frame...I couldnt turn it down. I may get lucky and buy a whole truck for that much later on (a rusted or blown engine one tho). Im still working on the fenders so when I do get another frame, or incase we need them on something else.
Right now im starting back on the 54, yet again. And this time im determaned as hell to finish it. Ive started on this truck MANY times before and never finished it...seems like its the one truck I never get done. Its sitting out in front of the barn now, with a chassis inside being worked on.
