what you talkin bout. ford had the pantera all the boss's mach 1's gt's believe it or not but like my old 68 galaxie, they made some massive hp when done up w/ there 390 4 barrel. just like any other car done up back in the day, and now they got the 05 gt's pushing 300 hp to the wheels stock and the reg's pushing 200somethin and ford trucks in my opinoin look better then the same ol style gm,chevy trucks + tq rate. ford has better pulling capasity and ford has the svt cobra. it suposidy runs 13's but i think it can do better not to mention vettes cost more for a suposidly extra second. vipers too are usualy a waste cause you got so much tq w/ that v10 that you go thru more tires then miles put on it. but these are just my opinoins.

I wouldnt consider a Pantera a muscle car tho, thats like saying a 04 Corvette is a muscle car. They are sports cars. Older vettes where a little bit more muscle, but still on the boarder line. Muscle car king, not sports car king lol. I dont really consider new cars muscle cars either, mustangs, vipers, or vettes.

I agree, the vette started to become a "sports car" in the late 70's, but in the 60s an L88 vette was a MUSCLE CAR!!!

The new corvettes have a "mean" engine. (compared to newer cars..not the older big blocks). And pull pretty good times. But alot of people dont consider them muscle cars. Sports car

Yeah, the new engine doesnt have enough torque for it to be called a muscle car, and it handles too well.

I have to go with Mopar. They had the best engine of all time, the 426 Hemi. Mopar had all the charger models, the Barracuda, the Challenger, the Dart, the Coronet, and the Fury(some were fast). Mopar also dominated Nascar and Drag racing. Ford is close behind. My dad used to have a Fairlane sports coupe with a hi po 289 and 4 speed, this was one of the fastest cars he has ever had. Then he also had a ford F-150(cant remember the year) with a 429 Police interceptor in it that killed most cars he raced. Chevy has its good cars too. So i would say they were all good companies during that time. 426ci

The hemi was a good motor but why is it that the small block chevy has been in production for 49 years without any major changes?
