Might not be your tranny mount, might be your tranny it self. I know my grandpa's caprice used to shake (so bad shake the whole car) and go back and forth from 2nd and 3rd if it was in a strain, like going up a big hill or something.

Could even be a clogged fuel filter and the engine isnt getting enough gas under load causing it to knock, or clogged cataylic converter.

Thanks guys, I found the major problem. I tried to move the drive shaft by hand while it was on the truck, it wouldn't move. So, I removed it and one of the u-joints fell apart. The bearings where long gone. I still have a "shake" but, it's only at high speeds(like 55& up) I haven't figured it out yet. I was planning on redoing the exhaust in a few weeks anyway, so, I'll pull the "Cat" and see if it helps. I wouldn't know how to check the trany, but, my rescent trany swaping has shown that it would be easier to replace the truck. Or at least live with the "Vibes" cause man if I never see another bad trany I'd be very happy at this point. Short story is A friend with a '78 Ford "mudder" and a bad C6 auto and a 300 pound transfer case! Very heavy and not fun in the least. Again thank you I'll post if i ever figure it out. Later

My car used to shake from 45-60mph. It was my driveshaft out of balance. Anything under 45mph wouldnt vibrate....and if I would get over 60mph..it would smooth out.

Yup, check and see if you knocked a weight off the driveshaft when you took it out.

I didn't but, I might have put it in 180 degrees off some one told me it was posiable. Right now I'm more worried about the fact that I get like almost no heat out of this thing. Take tonight, I started my truck about 45 mins before I went to drive home. I should been melting in the cab, it was freaking cold! Granted the outside temp was -8 , with out adding the "Wind Chill". Still that much time? I have to figure it out cause I live in southern Wisconsin, it ain't getting much warmer anytime soon. Later

My parents Jeep was doing that a couple weeks ago and believe it or not it was the water pump, there wasnt enough water in the system to heat it. Strange thing was is that it didnt overheat.

Maybe one of the ducts under the dash came loose or something. Mine used to take forever to heat up, and actually it was just blowing the air into the passenger side floorboard. Reason it took so long to get my side heated up. Defrost didnt work at all either. Works ok now.

Thanks again guys. Yeah I thought about the water pump. I think I'll look it over, maybe change the tremo to a higher temp like 200 or something. SuperNova, I checked that to I get air out all of the vents, just not hot or even warm. i think it has more to do with it being so cold. I'll work on it when i get up tomorrow.

Yea if the air is coming out of all the vents, the ducts under the dash are ok. Id just check out the water pump like 73nova73 said, probally be the thermostat. Could be the water pump, but most of the time its the thermostat either not letting it heat up enuff (get higher temp one like you said), or its sticking a little.

After we put the waterpump in our jeep there was still an air bubble in the heater core so there wasnt much heat coming out but it cleared out after awhile.

well guys, Here's the latest. I started the truck while I shoveled yesterday and after about twenty minutes it was blowing some pretty good heat. This tells me it's proably one of two things: !: my weather stripping is leaking so bad the heat is being "lost" before I can feel it. 2: The themo was stuck and has somehow closed. this isn't a problem unless it refuses to reopen. I have no idea. Later

Yeah, it was probly the thermostat, next time you buy one get a fail safe that stays open if it fails.
