I usually just hold my brakes kick it, sometimes I dont even have to hold the brake after it starts spinning, it will sit there no matter what. (depending on how much water they lay down and how much power you have.)
Mine will spin like crazy with just kicking it...but if i want to stay in one spot (like the water box on a drag strip) I just hold my brakes while im doing a burnout)
I usually lower the fluid level in the master cylinder for the rear wheels...so front tires still hold..but rear brakes arent as strong. (make sure you have more fluid to put back in it before going home lol)

Yeah, a few months ago I was driving my dad's truck and had to hit the brakes kinda hard because some bitch cut me off and it blew the rear brake line....that was fun ride home.

I hate people who pull out in front of you. Even worse when you are driving somebody else's car. I was driving my grandpa's 59 Apache one day, and some old woman pulled out in front of me. Here I was coming around a sharp curve at 55mph in a truck that doesnt have powerbrakes....next thing I know here comes a caddilac pulling out in front of me. Locked up the brakes...slid for a long ways still almost hit her, had to move over in the other lane a little. With the tire's squeling....and me blowing the horn.....she never looked back. Didnt even hear me. People like that shouldnt be aloud to drive. I wouldnt have came home If I would have tore up his truck lol.

haha, sounds like a lot of trash talkin. lol. well ive been thinkin about dropin a 4 speed in my '72 Nova, but i think it would be way too much work and i think it would be harder to drag once i totally convert it. what do ya'll think?

but is it the best way to go for the strip. not the matter of what you love but what adds performance and how good you are w/ driving it.

ya its a 350/350 combo. it has a shift kit in it so it runs good. the only problem i have with it is that i use my car as a daily driver and i dont get shit for gas mileage. and eventually i want to drop a 4 speed in it or buy a overdrive kit for it. but another thing for all u nova owners. my rear leaf springs r really sagging, and i was just wondering if any of you kno if its cheaper to buy new ones or just get these rearched.

a 4 speed wont give you THAT much more gas milage, some but not alot, put 700r4 in it or something.I wouldnt rearch the springs, thats just putting a band-aid on the problem, I rebuilt mine, I took the main leaves and some leaf springs from an old truck (80s Chevy i think) and used 4 leaves off the truck springs and bolted it all together. images.cardomain.com/member_images/3/web/315000-315999/315630_138_full.jpg[/img]Not the best pics, but you get the idea.

ok thanks, i just need to do somethin soon cuz its really bad. i have like no rear suspension and i need to raise it up so i can have ppl in the back and not worry about goin around a corner fast and havin my tires rub. would a set of like 1 inch drop leaf springs make much of a difference?
