Im disapointed with the GTO looks. It looks like a 96 Grand Am.It needs verticle headlights. They should makeit look bad ass.Theres not even dual exaust. But about the Cadillac 16.Its DOD.Displacement on Demand. This allows the engine to shut down from 16 to 8 to 4 cylinders. When there not being used. The number of cylinders that are running depends on how much weight is in the car or how fast your going.Cadillac first came out with this system in the early 80's.But it was a disaster. They first had a 16 in 1929,and ended them in 1940.But supernova, this one could barely hit 80 mph.Still Very fast for its day though. But the new 16 can do 250 easy. The new one has 1000 HP where as the old one only had 175 HP.

I thought the 32 or 33 model hit like 120mph or somewhere around there? Speaking of this Caddy 16...I was in the import chat room on yahoo a while back. They happened to start talking about the new caddy 16, and I mentioned the old 16. This guy in there said "yes it was in the 30's..but it wasnt a 16..it was a inline 32" lmao.

Be a long ass engine thats for sure. Maybe 32 valve..not 32 cylinders. I tried to tell him it was a 16, not 32.

When did they make straight eights? Even that sounds pretty goofy. Sounds like a huge engine.

I can't remember what company it was but they made them in the 30's or 40's. Alot of deisel engines are still strait 8s.
