Ford had to take the easy way around to beat chevy. Make them use a different engine...that they knew wasnt as good. Course me and 73nova73 are wrong, and 86کТΛηG† is right..like always. Because nobody can compare to a Ford, they rule and have always.

First of all, I wouldnt be talking shit about Chevy not having a NEW road course car because fords is just a CONCEPT. And I didnt say that chevy made the first 302, they didnt, but ford the faggots that they are started makeing threats to chevy about taking them to court if they didnt stop making them. By then the 327 was gone and all they had was the 350, not a good road course motor, but neighter is fords 351. (and sorry to rain on your parade but the 302 is 4.9 liter not 5.0)

"there second engine wasnt as good. wheres there great smarts to make it as good"
That would be like chevy crying about ford using the 302 in the GTR concept..and make them use the 4.6. 4.6 would suck ass compared to the 302....why cant ford make a 4.6 just as good?

wow 73. you so smarrrrt its.. almost like your trying to tell me something new... and guess what thats in tha future. right now tha stangs out now are dominating tha street corses and tha 302 had been used in many stangs. so chevy has no right to bitch. and tha thing with tha 4.6 not bein as good as tha 5.0 tha 4.6 has bigger pistons and heads and isnt a push rod engine so there for it makes lil better hp then a 302 stock it still wont have tha TQ but all n all its a good engine and they did make it as good. just to diferent spec's

If the stangs are dominating the courses...why dont they win every race? Vettes, Vipers, and other race cars, win just as much.
You say they did make the 4.6 just as good. Why dont ford race the 4.6 now? Use it in the GT-R concept? And why do so many mustang owners, and non ford people both say the mustang sucked more in the 94 and later years because of the 4.6?

rotflmao@sinster and btw. HOW MUCH MORE DOES A VETTE OR VIPER COST!!!? and maby cause them ppl didnt have parts to be moding tha 4.6, also when anything comes out. they dont have many mods for it. then they make em and things sky rocket. and that engine in tha GT-R isnt tha same one as say. my engine. just like tha hemi. they redo it to make more hp and be a lil more emmisions friendly and if you would have payed attention tha 4.6 makes as good hp stock for stock but tha tq isnt as good

1999-03 The SOHC GT and DOHC Cobra get a significant HP increase and a slight increase in torque in 1999 via better intake, cams and larger valves. Most of the increase is at higher RPM's. The 3.27:1 axle is standard. The Cobra gets an independent rear suspension. There are moderate styling changes. Stiffer springs, smaller anti-roll bars, different shock/strut setup, and heavier steering feel is an attempt to get the same handling with a better ride. The 2000-02 carry over basically unchanged from the 1999's. For '99 the base price of a GT was $21400, Cobra coupe $28k, Cobra convertible $32k. 2000 prices are about the same. In 2000 300 race-ready street-legal Cobra R's were released with a 5.4L DOHC, 385 HP and a 6-speed. It comes with Recaro seats, Eibach springs, Bilstein shocks & struts, a Borla exhaust, plus many other modifications. Limited edition models offer a hint of the future powertrains. For 2003 (a late 2002 model actually) the Cobra gets a supercharger with a rating of 390HP plus additional driveline and suspension changes and a 6-speed.
2005 The Mustang moves to a new platform, the S197, a modified version of the DEW98 rear-drive platform with independent suspension that's shared with the new T-Bird and the Lincoln LS. The base six cylinder and the GT will get a live axle (and a panhard bar) with the Cobra continuing with the independent rear suspension. The base engine is Ford's 4.0L SOHC V6 producing 202 HP. The GT will get a three-valve SOHC 4.6L with 300HP (still running on 87 octane) with the same five-speed manual as before. The Cobra will be introduced in the '06 model year with over 400HP and a six-speed. A sequential shifter manumatic is possible.

8-)GT-R is a Race class, I believe that the 24 hour Lemans race is in this class. Ford and Japan are not the only ones to use the GTR name: Ultima GTR is a widely known one, even if some call it a "Kit Car" because you put what ever engine you want in it. I'm not sure but, didn't the Exotics all have a GTR? As for which is better, um as long as it's not a Jap car should you really care? And you guys are still comparing Apples to bananas Chevy committed "harry carry" by dropping the F-bodies. Even the Biased (Jap loving) big car rags know better. A used Viper costs more then a new Corvette and a Mustang cost less then a new 'Vette, Some cases barely less. It's just not fair to think a Mustang should compare. But, alias we reach the trouble don't we. The Viper just costs too damn much for average people to buy, the 'Vette is "pricey" but, can be afforded. But, the Mustang now they start at $13xxx.xx, till you start talking about 'Cobras and those other models, the GTR will cost more then a 'Vette that's for sure, hell I bet it'll cost more then new Viper. That's if "Joe Smoe" can even buy one! I'd guess that it'll be a "Racers Only" deal Like the Corvette C5 GT race car.

Yea Mustangs are cheaper then vettes. The GT-R will probally be alot more then a vette. But those base line mustangs dont even compare to the vette...they are the v6 versions.

That's why I said they can't compare. Yes it's a V6 base model that is 13xxx.xx but , you have to admit the Camaro's v6 started at 16xxx.xx. That's part of the reason they weren't selling. I almost bought a new Mustang a few months ago. I was thinking about it when I realized that the '05s will beout in July. I want that body style if I'm buying one at all. I just can seem to find a starting price or base price anywhere.

I read in a magazine with the new Cobra you can make it a 500 hp car with spending around 2500. you need like a smaller blower pulley adn a new exauhst, and some more shit. know im gonna say that could waste a vette.
