I need compression ratio, induction flow (cfm) exhaust sytem(manifolds or headers) and cam specs. I could use the intake and exhaust valve sizes too.

Wow, I changed my mind on what cam I want to use in the 383 and it opened up SOME power. 482 HP@6000rpm & 479 ft. lbs. of tq. @ 4500rpm And it's not that big of a cam, just .488 .509 lift.

Okay, I think I made up my mind already on what parts to use in the new motor, here's what desktop dyno says: 337 hp@5,000rpm & 390 ft. lbs. of tq. @ 3,000 rpm. That's for the 350. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- And here's the 327 with all the same parts. 340 hp@5,500rpm & 371 ft. lbs. of tq. @ 4,000rpm. I was thinking the 350 to get more low end power for those damn highway gears, but then again, I use most of the power from 35 mph and up so the 327 would be better for that. I dunno, what do you guys think?

My cousin's neighbor has an old Cadillac with a 509 in it ( ).. what does that thing put out? He wants to see if he can buy it off of them cheap, put the 509 in his Camaro, and then sell me the Caddy and his 350 for cheap

how bout this. 350=underpowerd pos. I'm not going with a stock 350 with small valve heads anymore, I'm buying a diffrent 350. And keep talking because when I get my new motor and some new gears for the rearend my Nova will crush your peice of shit stang.

350 is underpowered pos....ill take 2 of my plug wires off, fuck the adjustment up on my carb and beat your stang on its best day. What year caddy is it? Those big engines sound like they are nice..but most have low compression. Most 472 and 500 caddy engines have very low compression resulting in weak 200hp range numbers. Id imagine the 509 is too. Make sure you do some research before going with it just because its big. Or you might end up a boat anchor fearsome looking engine under the hood...but make the same hp as a honda prelude.

Shit, I think I changed my mind AGAIN! The guy that sold me the nova has a 400 thats never been run, I don't know if he'll sell it tho, maybe. For all I know, it will be a big block tomorrow....

My sister's bf has a 400 small block, it was built buy a guy around here who used to build engines for Nascar. He definetly knows his shit.
