The guy built it for his '38 ford but found out that it wouldnt clear the firewall without alot of work so he wants a small block. I gave him a great deal on a slightly used 307 but he wouldn't take it.

Going to look damn close to this one: It'll have the biggest tires I can get on 14x7 rally wheels. (probably 245/60s)

I haven't updated my site in awhile so I thought I'd post an update on the Nova, I put some turn downs on the tail pipes to make them legal, I cracked the inlet on the fuel pump so I had to get a new one and then make a new fuel line for it because it has a 3/8" outlet and the old one had a 5/16" outlet. Got a new alternator and made a spacer for the bottom bolt. Did alot of tuning on the motor and ran around in circles trying to get rid of a nasty backfire when you pull the throttle wide open, took some advance out of the vacuum canister, didn't work, put heavier springs it the dostributer, didn't work, turned the distributer back to 10 degrees (did have it at 14 degrees), didn't work. So I put it all back how it was and ran some 93 octane through the motor, worked. However, I'm not going to run high test in it all the time so I'll have to find the problem later, it might be some rust on the intake valves but I don't know how some diffrent gas would fix that. The motor pulled up a rocker stud so I put a new one in, and got the power steering system in and wow, the wheels turn easier than most new cars I've driven.
I hope to have brakes on it next weekend and maybe even get the front end primered and put on the car, we'll see.

;D Got some brakes on the Nova and finally got to drive it around the shop yesterday, it drives really good and will spin the tires VERY easily. I'm suprised what the rearend can do, I only spins one tire when you get on the gas while turning but when you get strait it leaves two nice even tracks. ;D ;D It felt pretty good to drive a car that hasn't been driven in 7+ years. (unless you count the day I bought it and backed it into the driveway 20 feet.) On Saturday the motor ran like shit and I couldn't figure out why and then I took the air cleaner off and it was shooting gas out the breather tube! At first I thought the new fuel pump had too much pressure but then I took the fuel bowl off the carb found out it had a cracked float and well...cracked floats don't float. So I stole a float out of an old Holley I had and it fixed the problem. A few new ones: Yeah, I know I gotta do some cleaning.

Nice too hear you got it where you can stop now ;D. That would have sucked to have rolled it into something . Anyway, hows the front end coming along? Was raining today so I didnt get a chance to do anything to my car, other then start it up and move it.

The hood is sanded but the fenders need more tweaking and I'm sure I'll find spots I missed when they get primered. I'm hopeing to get the whole mess on the car sunday. In 3 or 4 weeks I think I'll bring the car home and start on the interior.

This past weekend I got the guages in and put the seat back in (alot better than a cinder block) and got the gas tank back in it. I've just been having fun driving it, I didn't have the rear brakes blead yet so I drove it over to a patch of pavement next to the shop and tested the traction....there isnt any ;D The only bad part was when I let the brakes out and got the assend got sideways and flung the battery about 10 feet, didnt hurt it any tho, I'm just glad I didn't have the terminals tight. I almost lost control once though, I put the gas to the floor while turning left and I didn't figure there was enough room for a sideways car between a crane and an 18 wheeler so I just hit the brakes.
That thing has alot more power than I thought it would have, I just can't wait to get it on the road then I'll do a real test drive. ;D

Looks good man! Lets see some paint on her, and we can decide if yours or Curtis's Nova's are more badass

Paint? HA! It'll be awhile before paint, after I got the fenders on I noticed how shitty my fiberglass job was on the bottom of them, I'll try to sand it down and make it look right but I may need new/better fenders before I think about paint.
