Well, like I said, I think it was running too hot with the q-jet because the paint stopped burning when I put the Holley on, they still smoked but that was oil dripping down on them when I was adjusting the valves. Something I forgot to mention, I read somewhere that Chevys only run good when they leak oil, well, I guess mine runs really good. I'm not sure where it's leaking but it's the oil pan or the rear main seal (I guess not putting a new one in has come back to haunt me) It's not a REALLY bad leak but it's bad enough so that I have to do something about it, damn it.
lol, but yeah I'll porbably end up repainting them, I have not run the motor longer than 15 minutes because there isnt much fluid in the tranny and I dont want to burn up the pump. Next weekend I'm going to put a shift kit in the transmission and a new filter and kick down cable and fluid and (enough and's for ya?) then run the engine for a couple hours. Maybe even drive the Nova around the shop a few times. (no not inside the shop )
