Sleep is over-rated. I only get about 5-7 hours of sleep...

I think there is a curse on this forum, first I had to pull my motor back out, then SuperNova decided he wanted a hearse, then sinister wrecks his car and today my Nova took a nasty fall off the jack stands. Wasnt too bad, had the right front wheel off at the time so I need a new backing plate, and a poor unsuspecting jackstand got crushed.I'm just glad I wasnt under it when it happend, the damn thing bounced all over the place.(I need shocks) It was a little spooky crawling back under it after I got it jacked back up, oh well, shit happens. On a good note, it looks like I'll get my exhaust installed tomorrow.

Ouch. I usually put my car up on jackstands, and leave the jack up under the car also. May sound overprecautious...but I dont feel the need to have a 3000lb car dropping on top of me.

Yeah, I normally leave the jack under the rearend but I had just let the jack down and the jack stands were under the rear springs and I kinda .... "wiggled" the car to make sure it was stable.....it wasn't.

Yea the wiggle test is good to make sure its stable and doesnt fall on you. But if it isnt stable it will do like it did to you...fall over lol.
My old shop teacher told me he had a kid drive a bronco up on a lift once in the shop. You normally lift it just enuff off the ground and shake it to see if its stable....he lifted it all the way up...shook it, and it fell off. It was laying on its side inbetween the too legs on the lift lol.

That would suck, I read about a guy that had a car fall on him when it was on a lift, the only injury he had was a ratchet handle through his hand.

He got lucky. Guy had a shop door that slides up and lays flat against the roof of the building (instead of some that roll up). It broke while rasing up..and the heavy metal door feel like a blanket on top of him. Folded him in half at the waste...suprisingly he lived. But was fucked up for the rest of his life.
