so basically..... THIS ENGINE HAS TOO.... FIT IN THIS SPACE. BTW: Used one of those 1/4 calculators that estimate your 1/4 ET from using the weight and HP. 1,750lbs + 480hp = 8.9 @ 152 More then likely high 9's low 10's because this fucker isnt going to hook up..just going to sit and spin.

Im going to have to look for a rear end out of a Monza, or Vega. Even those will be wider then the Geo..but not as wide as the one out of my Nova. I have a good rear end out of a 79 Mazda Rx-7..but Ive heard they can only handle 200hp stock. (Not going to be dogging any rear end i put in it, till I get it modded...but I figured even driving normal would mess up the mazda rear). Some guy in Import Chat on yahoo told me that old toyota rear ends are light, fairly strong, and are narrow. A half way decent fab shop can shorten a GM 10 bolt, my dad does it all the time. You can get custom made axles or cut the old ones and have them re-splined.

Yea I had thought about just ordering new axles...and get my grandpa to cut and weld back the rear end shorter. He is better at welding then I am, but still dont know if he could get the rear end to hold up for along time.

It's no harder than shortening a driveshaft.
