In the Caprice, sometimes when its a little cold and I try to hit the gas it makes a choking-type of sound and sometimes stalls, or it ends up doing that, and when I release the pedal it starts to finally pick up speed. What do you guys think this could be from?

Has an electric choke doesnt it? Probally the choke isnt working, and causing the engine to run bad untill it gets warmed up. How long does it do this before it stops after you start it up? Shouldnt do it too long since its starting to get a little warmer outside.

Yup, electric choke.. oh, a good 2-3 minutes going 35 MPH, then its fine. I'll check the choke.

Next time you start it up and it does it again, before you go anywhere sit there holding the gas (not alot, just alittle) around 1,500 - 2,000 rpm's. Hold it there for about 30 seconds or 1 min...it should go without bogging down too much then.
Usually on mine during the winter time it isnt that bad. (doesnt do it at all during summer). I just start mine up, hold it around those rpms for a couple seconds, pat the gas a few times...then it runs good. Im suprised my runs so good during winter when you first start it up...it has a manual choke on it, which I dont have the cable running inside. So I run it without choking it, and it still starts up good.

You may have to adjust it a little as the weather changes too.
