I just got DSL, I recommend it to everyone, it's MUCH faster than dailup and you can leave it on all the time and it doesnt tie up the phone line. Plus it's only $10 more than what we were paying for dailup. It's awesome.

I live too far out to get DSL. Only thing I could get would be by satellite. Anybody know how good that is? I figured it would mess up everytime its cloudy/stormy.

Yes DSL is great, I have had it for 4 years, but either get a software firewall on your system, or better yet install a router. With a DSL line your system is wide open to hackers and robots that will wreak havok with you system. You have to protect yourself, or the "bad guys" out there will claim another victim

DSL with no firewall really isnt any worse the Dail up. Hackers get into both with ease. Im not saying dont worry about a firewall because dail up is just as bad, because you do need a firewall. Just incase anybody trys to hack you.
