Dont know why, but I did. $500...figured the swb 4x4 frame, axles and t case was worth that. Has a good set of 33's on it too. The body is shot, and I dont know if the engine will run or not. It doesnt have a starter, but im going to put one on it and find out if it runs or not.

About 2 hours after I got offline yesterday....the rain mists stopped, so I went out to work on the truck. A few minutes and a eye full of dirt later I had a starter on it. Dropped in a battery and grabbed a can of starting fluid. It turned over a few times just spitting and sputtering. Finially got it to pump gas back up into it and get it to run. It runs suprisingly well. It smoked a little when we first started it (could have been from the starting fluid we sprayed, plus the carb flooded a little). I took it around the yard to try it out.
Runs good, didnt smoke anymore. Doesnt knock, rattle or even skip. All the gears work good in the tranny. All the gauges work...all lights work except turn signals. Fuel switch for the 2 tanks even work. So now I know for sure that $500 was a great deal. I was happy to start with...after hearing how it runs now, im really happy.
Im wondering if the axles have been torn into tho. It winds out pretty quick in the gears. It poked along in the yard in 4th gear without struggling a bit. 3rd gear would top out and I wasnt trying to top it out flying around....I was just going through the gears.

Actually I have a yard full of trucks that run like they are new..even if they do look like junk. (whats the point of having a super nice looking car if it smokes rattles and knocks?). I have a newer ranger that pays itself in gas. And your right, no more mods to the Nova at this moment. Not like it will ever truely be "finished". I will always find something to do. Im in no hurry, I guess you like to rush around with your stuff maybe? Why do you dislike the truck so much anyway? lol You need laid, let loose some frustration or something. Or atleast ride in a chevy, that would make you feel better.

Why are they crappers? Because of how they look? You know, your 68 with grass growing under it and a tarp laid on top to keep the top from leaking doesnt look so hot either.
