muddin 4 chevys and 3 fords got stuck and barried pretty much in a water hole. and all 3 fords started up. and all the chevy guys said if there vehicles got stuck and shut off and left over night like we did they woulda never started. btw that means the exhaust was majorly under water and started right up

Oldschool chevy inline 6's dont have much HP. But will outlast 90% of fords, or any other cars for that matter. Including other chevy engines.

Well, I've owned at least two of all three of the big ones. You say all three make problem cars well yes, but, I have one friend with three fords all broke at the moment. One broke a motor mount which sent the motor right into a brand new $300 Rad. You should have seen it when he told his wife, I thought she was going to rip his head right off! His other truck needs EGR work, and her car has some problem with the brake gear shift lock thing. You know you can't shift out of park without stepping on the brake, well even if you do it still will not move. No idea why yet. Enough ranting I guess. Chevy : least problems and I've had quite a few Ford : Can't make an Auto trans to save their own @ss! Dodge : Over overcomplicated wiring and too many little gadgets under the hood. Imports: they are just a running gag, second biggist joke ever.

My old Nova had 265,000 miles and the original engine lasted for about 200.000 of them, and alot of parts off that car are in my current nova like the sub-frame, all of the suspension parts (except the springs and ball joints, there new) and the rearend.

My old Nova was probably the hardest driven car ever. Does this look like a car that had a good life to you!?

Biggest joke ever: politicians, have you seen what choices we have for President this time? Bad, worse, and worst but, I don't talk about that on line.
The Nova guy got 200,000 miles out of a '73? That's nothing, I got 238,000 miles out of a '90 2.2 four cylinder engine! And talk about a hard life I got it with 80,000 on it and in four years racked up the rest. I did have to redo the rod bearings when I got it , I did alot to it at that time not that any of it was needed I just wanted to see if it would help, and I wanted a little more power. After it was done I beat the hell out of it every day stoplight racing, speeding and redline shifts where all it knew.
I tore it apart a few months ago to do some more severe mods to it was thinking about putting a turbo on it. I doubt I will now. just shows that if you do the mantaintance and keep everything up to snuff it will last. Later

You are right about the tranny's in fords. That is the only major problem with them. They make bad auto tranny's. My grandpa had a 57 Fairlane a while back...he said he put about 4 different trannys in it before he finially sold it. My car only has around 10k..but it has been driving hard more then once. No signs of it giving in. Ive owned alot of cars...most where GM's. Only 2 that wasnt GM's were a 60 Ford. and 66 Chrysler. All the GM's have been pretty good. The Ford was good even tho it needed an overhaul. (Just years and years of running, and miles...nothing major..just natural engine wear) The Chrylser had awesome power for a stock 440. But I sold it because I knew it was about to drop dead. Not its fault...the previous owner put it thru hell.

lol yea I give my car a hard time sometimes. But I come home and talk to it nicely and check it over real good. I take care of it, and run it hard all at the same time.
